Recommendations for Spring 2011
Aquilegia 'Biedermeier' - Compact grower with spurred flowers in a bright mix of colors including carmine, lilac, blue, pink and cream. A great spring bloomer for front of the border or rock garden. 8-12" tall x 12" wide, Zn4 (Cold Hardy to -30° to -20°F)
Armeria 'Victor Reiter' - This small, tufting Armeria resembles a dwarf Dianthus. A profusion of tiny pink ball-shaped flowers bloom for a long time over grassy evergreen leaves. 3-5" tall x 12" wide, Zn4 (Cold Hardy to -30° to -20°F)
Bellis perennis 'Pomponette Mix' - Miniature, double daisies in red, pink, and white bloom profusely for many weeks in spring. Biennial. 4-6" tall x 12" wide, Zn4 (Cold Hardy to -30° to -20°F)
Fuchsia 'Golden Gate' - Golden foliage brightly contrasts the red stems and red flowers that bloom all season. A hummingbird favorite! 24" tall x 24" wide, Zn7 (Cold Hardy to 0° to 10°F)
Hebe 'Purple Shamrock' - Narrow variegated foliage is lime-green overlaid with purple on beautiful purple stems. The leaves flush with purple in winter. Short purple flower spikes accent the foliage in summer. 2' tall x 2' wide, Zn8 (Cold Hardy to 10° to 20°F)
